Perhaps i should have mentioned another negative point about being on a boat for a week; i was without internet, so i felt like i was detoxing. i had a fever, panic attacks, crying fits and night terrors. Okay, i am exaggerating a bit, but now that i am back home, i realised how much time i spent on the internet, especially Facebook.
There are so many other things that i could do with my time. i could read a book, study French, take a walk along the Rhone, meet with actual people (instead of people on Facebook), work on my photography skills, clip my toenails, close the toilet seat after my roommate uses it, etc. The list of better things to do is long, but i will not worry about it; since i returned home, i have not felt like hanging on Facebook.
i guess this negative was a positive.
Enjoy the rare photo or two of me because i usually delete them.

On the first day of may, in Europe, the workers have a day off; it is their Labour Day. The Lock Keepers are off too, so the young students take over for the day. They were very friendly young people. It was nice to see the younger generation outside working, instead of sitting on the computer.

Les Canalous is a great company to use if you decide to take a tour or rent a boat to travel around France in the canals. We had a problem in the beginning, but they took care of everything. http://www.canalous-plaisance.fr/
