Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary. i affectionately call it “a big village” because on any given day i could see a tractor riding down one of the streets, the same streets where a little old lady would carry a basket of baby chicks and the same streets that the one tram crossed through the city. If Debrecen were in the U.S. it might be considered a college town. There is a medical university in which many hopeful doctors to be, from around the globe attend.
i lived in Debrecen for four or five years and i made many lifelong friends and i met my best friend there. During my week-long visit i was able to reconnect with my friends. It was a great week of rest from the hustle and bustle of the big city Budapest. i enjoyed many great conversations and a lot of delicious Hungarian meals.
i realised that all the great things that have happened to me in the last few weeks are a result of my time in Debrecen.
Thank you for the memories, my dear friends. You will always be in my heart.
more to come…
