1001 Albums #23

I am hoping this is the last jazz album for a while. Dave Brubeck Quartet is the essence of cool jazz and Time Out is filled with seven cool tunes to close out the 50s era of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

I do not have a lot to say about this album. I like how it starts off super chaotic in the first song, but the song changes quickly into something you would want to hear in a night club. I can imagine people snapping and throwing all caution to wind by drinking martinis stirred.

Take Five is a one of the best songs ever. Check out the album version too.

I highly recommend this album to those who want to dip their toes in the jazz pool. I listened to it a second and third time while I was reading the novel The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. The first chapter is hilarious. I will let you know how it turns out. 8.5/10

Good-bye 50s.
