Creedence Clearwater Revival released three albums in one year. Green River is the second one. I cannot believe another album made it on the list of 1001 Albums…
I told a couple people about this band being from California and writing songs about the south, but not being from there. We decided it was problematic and should be considered cultural appropriation. I think we were joking. People love all those buzzwords like snowflake, cultural appropriation, and fake news.
I felt the same about this album from Creedence Clearwater Revival as I felt for Bayou Country. I do not like songwriter John Fogerty’s voice. It is too gruff for me. I am not a fan of swamp rock at all.
At least the previous album had a song that was covered by Ike & Tina Turner and became a hit. This album does not have a song that I have heard covered from other artist. The big hit song “Bad Moon Rising” do not sound good at all. It sounds dated, but I think it probably sounded date in 1969.
This is not my type of music and Creedence Clearwater Revival does not change my feels toward it. 2/10.
