I have never heard of King Crimson or if I did they did not make an impression on me. More than likely I have not heard of them because they were not around long and they were a progressive rock band. They became a band in 1968 and split up in 1974. There were many reunions later. The driving force behind the band is Robert Fripp. He is the most known and prolific artist in the band. He has worked with Brian Eno, David Bowie, Blondie and many other artist.
I found the album on Spotify, but it was not the original album. It was something someone made up with individual songs including live performances. I hated the live performances so I searched for it online and it was in its entirety on Vimeo.
I think my problem with progressive rock is the vocals. It seems in most of the songs I have heard I did not like the vocals. But in some progressive rock the music can be amazing as with the final two tracks “Moonchild (Including The Dream and The Illusion)” and “The Court of the Crimson King (Including The Return of the Fire Witch and The Dance of the Puppets)“.
This album so different than anything I have heard from progressive rock, but this is the birth of it or near birth. I like this album a lot more than I thought I would. It is unfortunate that it is not on Spotify. 7.5/10.
