#214 Isaac Hayes – Shaft

Shaft is a double album from Isaac Hayes. The album is a soundtrack to the film of the same name. The album is filled with instrumental songs. I have not seen the film so I do not know the context this takes place in. I will have to watch it.

“Theme From Shaft” is the simplest song, but so effective in the feeling it gives. It sounds like the first disco song, but it is soul and funk. I wish there was more soul music on this list.

This album is a fail. Without Isaac Hayes voice this is all elevator music. I would never listen to just to listen to it. It is not that great for elevator music. It is generic. I would say it is even generic for its time. 3/10.

…and i hate writing about myself. It feels awkward.
