#253 Hugh Masekela – Home is Where the Music Is

Home Is Where the Music Is is a jazz album with afrobeats influence. I kind of thought jazz was done now, even Miles Davis does not have anymore albums on the list. I guess I will see how I feel after listening to it.

I can say that the songs are way too long. I think you know I hate long songs if you have read any other post from me. Also, I hate busy jazz that sounds like my head when I am anxious; this album sounds exactly like my head at times.

I will skip the semi play-by-play of which songs I like and which I hate. The album is filled with jazzy songs that border on chaotic, but somehow pulls back from the edge just enough to keep it listenable. I think you should listen to it, if you like jazz at all. 7/10.
