Genesis‘ Selling England by the Pound is their fifth album of progressive music. It was their sounds before Peter Gabriel left and Phil Collins stepped up to the microphone. I had never heard any of their songs before today with Gabriel. My Genesis always has Collins as their lead singer.
Obviously, my favourite song is “More Fool Me” because Collins is singing it.
I do not hate this album, but I do not love it either. All progressive music is starting to sounds the same to me. I am never sure what the story is about. The music is fast paced along with the vocals. At times it sounds like a renaissance festival. I hate those times. 6/10.
