The Isley Brothers‘ 3+3 album adds three family members to the brothers. They continue with their sound of funk, soul and rock. Disco is really close by.
The Brothers like weird titles, as with “That Lady, Pt. 1 & 2“. Their other albums include songs with a Pt. 1 & 2, at least every album I looked at. This is definitely the hit song to listen to, but there are other songs to check out: “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight“, “You Walk Your Way“, and “What It Comes Down To”.
The only song I really do not care about is “Summer Breeze“. I think the original version is better by Seals and Crofts. The other song I would probably skip is “Listen to the Music.” It is better by original artists the Doobie Brothers. The Brothers do better on their own songs.
The album is good if you like soul and funk. I think it helped us bridge the gap to disco; it is a danceable. 7/10.
