That’s The Way Of The World is the only entry from Earth, Wind & Fire. Soul, funk and R&B are underrepresented on the list, but I think they did not put a lot of effort into the whole albums, especially when disco took over. There were so many artists doing cover songs back in the 60s and 70s.
I remember “Shining Star” as a kid, but it was not really my jam. I did not seek it out at any point in life. It is an okay tune to dance to.
I prefer the sweet sound of “That’s the Way of the World“. This song sounds special for me. I cannot place my finger on it, but it is connected to a memory. It is like a great espresso; it goes down smoothly.
Other song that is worth listening to is “Happy Feelin’“.
Unfortunately, I did not find more songs to like. Most of the songs sound a bit dated. I think a lot of dance music has an expiration date. The album on a whole is not horrible, but it is not amazing either. 5.5/10.
