#355 ABBA – Arrival

Arrival is the fourth album from Sweden’s supergroup of the 70s and beyond, ABBA. I am a fan of ABBA. I have always liked their sound. They get the body moving. Unfortunately, I have never listened to the whole album; I was still too young during their time.

One of my most favourite songs of all-time is “Dancing Queen“. This song sounds like freedom. I was trapped as a child in a rough situation. I could not get free to a safe place, but songs like this one gave me a hope of a safe place. The music takes me to a place that never existed. Also, ABBA and this song reminds me of Muriel’s Wedding. It was one of the best Australian films of the 90s.

Songs that you should hear are: “Dum Dum Diddle“, “Knowing Me, Knowing You” and of course “Fernando“, which appeared in Muriel’s Wedding and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, another hilarious Australian film.

This is a party album. It will keep you dancing for its entirety, even the slower songs are good to dance to. It is amazing, but I feel it could have been a bit better. 9/10.
