#361 Parliament – Mothership Connection

Parliament‘s Mothership Connection came out in 1975 according to all the sources. The book I am using is a mess. I cannot believe how much it has gotten wrong. A little research would have been useful to the editors. Anyway, I have heard of Parliament, but I am not sure if I know any of their songs.

Songs that made me want to dance are “P. Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)“, and the popular “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)“.

I can see why the album make the list; it was something new, ahead of its time. Many artist later would tear off roofs too and try to emulate the funk, but only a few like Prince would do it better. The songs tend to be too long for me. 7/10.
