Wire is another English punk band to ride the first wave of punk rock. Unfortunately their debut album Pink Flag did not make them famous in the USA. This is real punk. These guys did not care if the song was a little more than a minute or less than a minute. They were an influence on many artist such as, Henry Rollins, The Cure, R.E.M., Blur and more.
“Lowdown” is awesome. I really like the music to it. I think this is a difficult album to review. There are twenty-one songs and many of them are less than two minutes or even one minute. They start fast and end fast.
“Strange” is another great tune, which is a bit strange.
This is an album that should be listened to in its entirety as one whole concept. It is a work of art and needs time to appreciate it for its value. These guys were ahead of their time. 10/10.
