Throbbing Gristle‘s D.o.A: The Third and Final Report is the first industrial album on the list. I listened to industrial music in the late 80s and beyond. Industrial music sounds like the noises in my head. It all feels so random. I am sure most of my introduction to this band came from my friend Eric; he listened to all kinds of music that was new to me. Genesis Breyer P-Orridge is perhaps one of the weirdest artist in all of history. He uses a third gender, which I do not pretend to understand. I am more familiar with his other band Psychic TV.
I have marked the songs that I like on my Spotify account. I think my favourite songs are “Weeping” and “AB/7A“.
I cannot really describe this music to you, except to say that you have to listen to it yourself to understand it. It is definitely not for everyone. There are weird sounds, sometimes screaming vocals and sometimes sad vocals which are in the background to the music. This is unlike anything you have heard of in 1978. 10/10.
