Siouxsie And The Banshees is a band I knew of from the 80s, but I had no idea they were formed in the 70s. It is funny that we think of a band coming into existence when we first hear them, but most bands had to put in a lot of hard work to become famous. The band was one of the pioneers of post-punk. The Scream is their debut album.
The only song I really did not connect with at all is “Helter Skelter“. It is a bad cover of The Beatles song.
The sound on this album is definitely used by many contemporaries and bands that will follow it. Overall, I think it is a great debut album, but her words are swallowed in the sound of the music. I have no idea what their message is about. Today, I could look them up online, but I do not have time for it. The music is more of the attraction of this album. I think the would sound great with headphones or really great speakers. 8/10.
