The Fall is one of those bands that I think I have heard of, but I have never actually heard their music. Live at the Witch Trials is their debut album. They were never a major hit band, but had a cult following and release almost one album a year since 1979.
On my first listen through the album only one song “Music Scene” drew me in. I was not repulsed by the other songs, so I thought I should give it all another listen. I like the music, but the vocals are not as inviting for me. Mark E. Smith sounds a bit whiny to me.
If you like whiny singing, post-punk and droning on and on music, then this is the album for you. I kept drifting away. It was just okay. 6/10.
