#458 Dead Kennedys – Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables

I have heard of the band Dead Kennedys, but I have never heard their music at all. I was not into hardcore punk as a teenager or as an adult. The punk rock music that I liked had to speak to me on an emotional level. I was very emotional as a teen. Actually, I am still emotional. Hard music does not provoke feelings in my heart. Lead singer Jello Biafra was born in Boulder, Colorado. Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables was their debut album.

Overall, I hated this album. Once again, I do not like this genre much, but more importantly I hated the vocals. It was just shouting. I prefer to listen to someone who can sing. Oddly, 1980 has some of the worst albums on the list of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. 2/10.

  1. I had a friend who was into these guys. I think they’re awful. We went on a camping trip together and I had to listen to it for an entire weekend.
