Ex-Genesis’ member Peter Gabriel seems to be well represented on the list. This is Gabriel’s third solo album. He has a cast of talented musicians on this album, such as Kate Bush, Phil Collins, Robert Fripp, and Paul Weller.
Best songs are “Intruder“, “No Self Control“, and “Games Without Frontiers“. I have heard the latter before. It was probably played on MTV in the early days.
“Lead a Normal Life” has some interesting music, which I like, but it is also a bit weird.
Overall, it is not a bad album. I am not really into Gabriel’s political motivations. I prefer more personal song lyrics. The album contains the first “gated drum” sound. It was created by Hugh Padgham and Phil Collins. Collins used it for his hit “In the Air Tonight“. I guess it deserves some place in history. 7/10.
