#474 The Teardrop Explodes – Kilimanjaro

The Teardrop Explodes debut album Kilimanjaro was released in 1980. I have never heard of this band. It is weird because I thought I was at a point in musically history that I would know all of the bands on the list. The genre is neo-psychedelia and post-punk.

The best song is “When I Dream“. I kind of like “Brave Boys Keep Their Promises“.

I do not object to anything about this album. I think if I had heard it in the 80s I would have appreciated it more. At times the lead singer seems to shout a bit, but that is very 80s. It is like a walk down memory lane, but the memories are not mine. Unfortunately none of the songs made me wish I had heard them sooner. It is just okay. 6/10.

…and i hate writing about myself. It feels awkward.
