Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five is another band I have not heard their music. The Message is their debut album. Hip-hop has arrived and it sucks.
The first single “She’s Fresh” does not sound fresh at all. The music sounds like crappy DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. And to be honest it never gets any better.
I hate this type of sampling that is heard in “It’s Nasty”. It is basically the music from “Genius of Love” by the Tom Tom Club. I think hip-hop is for the talentless.
When you think it cannot get any lower, then “Dreamin'” begins. It sounds like a gay love song to Stevie Wonder. The singer thinks he is the best ever. I think he is in the top worst ever. I even dropped the album score even lower because of this horrible song.
I hate this type of music. It sounds extremely dated. It has too many samples to be considered creative. 1/10.
