#515 Violent Femmes – Violent Femmes

Violent Femmes‘ debut album reach the record shops of America in 1983. This is a band that I have heard of, but I have not heard much of their music. This album is a mix of folk punk and post-punk.

Blister in the Sun” is the only song that I realised that I have heard of before. I have not heard this song since the 80s. It has been used in film and more recently two series on Netflix.

Other songs to consider are “Kiss Off“, “Please Do Not Go”, “Confessions“, and “Prove My Love”.

I was wrong about only knowing one song. I have heard “Gone Daddy Gone” before. It is a good song with an upbeat vibe for dancing.

Overall, I really like this album. I am surprised I missed it in the 80s. Victor DeLorenzo voice can be a bit nasally so I can only listen to it for one album, then I need a break. I love the music because it is so feel good. 9/10.
