ZZ Top‘s Eliminator was not an album that I would have listened to if it had not been on MTV. They played it out, in my opinion. It was good for its time in history, but could does it stand the test of time? It is their eighth album.
There were several hits on this album and “Gimme All Your Lovin’“was one of them. I think it was my least favourite of their hit songs.
The ones I liked then were “Legs” and “Sharp Dressed Man” and now I can add “I Need You Tonight“.
To be perfectly honest, I never cared for their lyrics. They are rather silly and misogynistic. I really like the sound of their music. It is like dance rock. The rest of the album is all the same old stuff and does not sound like they stretched themselves. 6/10.
