#527 Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)

Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) is an album I have definitely heard. It was their second studio album. I was a fan of them from the first time I saw one of their videos. In the USA, people were a bit behind in thinking and they thought Annie Lennox was a transvestite. It was a little controversy. Another thing to consider, the band released two albums in 1983, the other being Touch near the end of the year.

I believe the first song I heard from them was “Love Is a Stranger“. My friends and I, even though way under age, were able to get into clubs. I remember hearing the song in the dance clubs.

Besides the title song and the one mentioned above there are other songs to consider: “I Could Give You (A Mirror)”, “The Walk“, and “Jennifer“.

Overall, the album is great, although personally, I prefer their later music, even a few months later. I really like the soundtrack to 1984 (For the Love of Big Brother). We Too Are One is probably my favourite whole album from them. I have songs from each of their albums that I really like a lot, but I skipped buying most of the albums, except for the two previously mentioned. In my opinion, Annie Lennox made her best album Diva as a solo artist. 8.4/10.
