Prefab Sprout is one of those bands that I have heard of, but I have never heard their music. Steve McQueen is their second album of sophisti-pop. In the U.S.A., the album was titled Two Wheels Good. Thomas Dolby produced and played some instruments on the album.
After listening to the first two songs “Faron Young” and “Bonny“, I am wondering how I missed this band. Unfortunately, I stop feeling that way for the rest of the album. The rest of the album is not terrible at all, but the songs are not as catchy.
This is the type of album that you can put on in the background at a party where people want to have conversations and hear music. I sort of liked it and it made me curious about their other albums. The music feels a bit dated for me. 6.5/10.
