#554 Big Black – Atomizer

Big Black was a band in the 80s founded by Steve Albini. He is known as a record producer for many bands, especially Nirvana‘s In Utero album. Atomizer is the bands debut album of noise rock and punk music. Their use of the drum machine foreshadowed the industrial rock music scene.

Songs that I liked were “Kerosene“, “Bad Houses“, “Fists of Love“, and “Passing Complexion”.

This band reminds me of bands that I liked a few years after this time period in music history. I was really into Ministry, Swans, and Nine Inch Nails. I think this album is catchy in a dark place and deserves it place in the list of 1001 Albums8/10.
