#635 Public Enemy – It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back

Hip hop artist Public Enemy released their second studio album It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back in 1988. I have never heard any of their music. I was not a fan of rap. I liked one song “Rapture“, but that was from Blondie. I tuned out rap. I did not have any friends that liked it in 1989.

“Security of the First World” was sampled by Madonna. Producer Lenny Kravitz used it for Madonna’s “Justify My Love” song. I think they took the song to a better place. It is a short interlude of music on this album.

I do not believe the hype. This sucks! These guys cannot sing. This is one of the worst albums on the list. It was like someone was beating me over the head with a brick and I was unable to die and they were unable to stop for fifty-seven minutes and fifty-one seconds. 0/10.
