Senegalese musician Baaba Maal & Mansour Seck album Djam Leelii was released in 1989. I already know how I will feel about this album. I do not like Afrikan music. In part it is the “singing” and the other part of it is the music. It is not my cup of tea or whatever you drink.
I really did not like this album, but it is not as bad as some of the previous albums of Afrikan music that have been featured in 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. I think it is an acquired taste and I do did not acquire it. Check it out on Spotify if you like World Music. 5/10.
