#664 Cocteau Twins – Heaven or Las Vegas

Heaven or Las Vegas is the second album from Scottish rock band Cocteau Twins to be on the list. It was their most successful album. It was their sixth studio album. I recognise the cover art, but I do not recognise the track listing. I might have missed it. I think I was heavily into The Cure, Depeche Mode, industrial music and a lot of dance music in this time period. Due to the inner turmoil they broke up in 1997.

The best songs are “Fifty-Fifty Clown“, “Heaven or Las Vegas“, “Cherry-Coloured Funk“, “Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires“, and “Pitch the Baby”.

What made this band so good was the dreamy music and most importantly the ethereal vocals of Elizabeth Fraser. I think this album is great, but not as great as Treasure. 8.5/10.
