Happy Mondays‘ Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches is their third studio album and their second on the list. I was not excited about their previous album, but maybe this will be a bit better. I recognise the album cover. I have a feeling that I might have listen to it. This album played a major role in the Madchester movement.
I do not recognise anything about this album. They even had a hit in the U.S.A. with “Kinky Afro“. I guess the artwork was more known than the music. It does not sound bad, but I was not terribly excited about it either. I had a problem with the vocals. I could feel anything from Shaun Ryder voice. Only the music was enjoyable. They should have found a better singer. 5/10.
