#771 Drive Like Jehu – Yank Crime

Drive Like Jehu is another band that is completely unknown to me. I did not know emo was a thing in 1994 when they released their second and final album Yank Crime.

I do not have a lot to say about this album. I did not feel anything for the vocals, especially when singer Rick Froberg is screaming. I prefer when he is quietly singing. I like the music “Do You Compute” better than the vocals.

I kind of like “Luau“, “Sinews“, “Super Unison”, and “Human Interest”. The more I listened to it, the more I appreciated it. It was an album that I had to listen to several times because I kept drifting away. PTSD does have its disadvantages and advantages. Unfortunately, I wanted to focus on the album and move on today. If you like post-hardcore and emo, then give it a listen or two. 7/10.
