#774 Ali Farka Touré with Ry Cooder – Talking Timbuktu

I feel like I am making some progress on 1001 Albums… The finish line seems closer than ever. I know I will not like Talking Timbuktu from Ali Farka Touré with Ry Cooder. I am not a fan of “Afrikan music” nor am I a fan of World music either. I do not know much about Cooder, except that he is a songwriter, film score composer, record producer and he has worked with some of the top artist from the late 60s and 70s.

I have no idea what Touré is singing about, but I found one song “Soukora” really mellow and kind of pleasant to listen to.

Overall, I stick to my original thought. I did not hate the music, but the singing was not great. 4/10.
