#776 Massive Attack – Protection

I think Massive Attack improved greatly since their debut album to their second studio album Protection. I think this was the album that brought them into my view. I know I used to listen to it at a local bookstore that I used to shop and hangout in back in 1994.

Their biggest hit from the album was “Protection” featuring singer Tracey Thorn from Everything but the Girl. It was my favourite song from them. I also liked “Weather Storm”, “Spying Glass”, and “Better Things” featuring Ben Watt, the other half of the duo Everything but the Girl.

The worst song is “Light My Fire” (live). Skip it.

It is a pretty good album. I think it is mostly great for a relaxing mood. The music incorporates many genres from R&B to chillout to trip hop. 7.5/10.
