#782 Nirvana – MTV Unplugged in New York

I am a little surprised to Nirvana‘s MTV Unplugged in New York made the list. I am not saying it isn’t great. I actually do not remember it now. I know I have a dislike for live albums in general, but I will be open to hearing it again.

I hated the applauses, but that was the only thing I hated about this album. Lead singer Kurt Cobain sounds great. It is hard to imagine that MTV did not like the direction Cobain and band members were taking this project. It shows that the executives do not always know what is best.

My favourites songs were “The Man Who Sold the World“, “Dumb”, “Something in the Way”, “All Apologies”, and “Come as You Are”, but all them were pretty good.

This is probably one of the best live albums I have heard, especially on the list of 1001 Albums… If you are a fan of Nirvana, then you will love it, but I think non-fans might be able to enjoy it. 8/10.
