Oasis released their second album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995 and it was a huge success. I definitely owned it. Critics were not in love with the album at the time, but they have come around. I do not think they should be able to change their minds. It feels false. It is as if they jumped on the bandwagon too late. It is one of the best selling albums in the whole world; it sold over 22 million copies.
Okay, who does not love “Wonderwall“? I used to have a friend who was my Wonderwall. But as Noel Gallagher said about the song its, “an imaginary friend who’s gonna come and save you from yourself”. Mine was imaginary. Nobody will save me. I will never have that one bestfriend that I have searched for my whole life. This song still brings tears to me eyes. I wonder why that is an expression. Can tears come from other parts of the body? Maybe I could say that it brings me to tears. Just read the lyrics and you will see what I mean.
There are many things that I
Would like to say to you but I don’t know how
Because maybe, you’re gonna be the one that saves me
And after all, you’re my wonderwall.
Other songs that I really liked were “Hey Now!“,”Cast No Shadow”, “Champagne Supernova“. Actually, I do not dislike any of the songs on this album.
Overall, I still love this album. One of my all-time favourite songs is on it. I do not usually count the remastered versions with the extra songs, but I did on this album. Some of the extras are excellent. I highly recommend it, especially the more heart felt tunes. 10/10.
