#888 Beth Orton – Central Reservation

There are so many artists like Beth Orton on this list of 1001 Albums... I have heard of them, but I have never listened to their music. Central Reservation is her second studio album. This list is also full of English singer-songwriters so it gets a bit tiring listening to them. Orton is known for her folktronica sound.

The songs that I liked were “Sweetest Decline” and “Central Reservation” (The Then Again Version), but even that is a stretch. I added them to my list to see if I really liked them.

Her voice was just okay. I did not feel as though I missed something all these years without listening to her music. Female singers like Orton are a dime for a three dozen. 5/10.

…and i hate writing about myself. It feels awkward.
