#894 Le Tigre – Le Tigre

Le Tigre is the band and the name of their debut studio album. I am not excited about listening to another band of feminist playing pop music to political lyrics. I grew up with the Go-Gos, the Supremes, Blondie, Pat Benatar, and a host of other strong females and female led bands.

The influence of every girl artist and band can be heard throughout the whole album. “Friendship Station“, which was probably one of the best songs has background vocals reminiscent of Cyndi Lauper.

Some other good songs are “Eau d’Bedroom Dancing”, “Hot Topic”, “Slideshow at Free University”, and “Dude, Yr So Crazy!”.

Overall, this album was much better than I thought it would be. I am not a fan of feminist screaming at me, but this trio was a bit better than that. The influence of the 60s is extremely noticeable too. 7/10.
