#904 Air – The Virgin Suicides

French electronic duo Air return to the list once more. Although The Virgin Suicides is consider a score for the film of the same name, I would list it as their second album. Most of the album is ambient music.

I do not have much to say about this album. I find it difficult to tear apart albums that are film scores and ambient. Most of the time I would say the individual song does not stand up alone, but the whole work is cohesive and should be listened to at one. These songs are stand alone, but not they are not pop hits for the radio.

The influence of Pink Floyd’s David Gilmore is heavily heard throughout the album, especially on “Highschool Lover” and “Bathroom Girl”.

Overall, it is a good ambient album for those who like to chillout or mediate. Most of the songs are short. I would have to be in the mood to listen to it. 7/10.
