I have seen the name Goldfrapp on music sites, but I have never listened to their music. Felt Mountain is the duos debut album. It was released in 2000, September 11, which makes it 20 years old this year.
It is rare when an artist comes along that I am not sure what to do with. Goldfrapp is one of those who I cannot decide how I feel about the English electronic music duo. It seems like it has been done before by Portishead. The music and vocals remind me of a film score.
I am scoring after listening to a few times but with the caveat that I can come back and change the score later. It is better than mediocre, but I am not sure if it is good. In fact, I heard one of the recent songs and I liked it better than the whole album. 6/10.
