#926 Madonna – Music

Madonna‘s Music eight studio album is a surprise for me; I had not expected another album of hers to make it to the list. Sometimes, she is underrated for her music. I think her personality outshines her art. I realized that I have never listened to this album completely yet.

I already knew before I listened to the album that I loved three songs on the album. My favourites were “Nobody’s Perfect, “Don’t Tell Me“, and of course the highlight of the album “What It Feels Like for a Girl“.

“Hurt that’s not supposed to show and tears that fall when no one knows
When you’re trying hard to be your best could you be a little less
Do you know what it feels like for a girl
Do you know what it feels like in this world for a girl.”

There are two versions of the song. The album version and the video version. I prefer the album, but the video is nice if you are wanting to dance.

I had forgotten that I also liked “Gone” before I heard the album today.  It is simple lyrically, yet insightful.

“Turn to stone
Lose my faith
I’ll be gone
Before it happens
Selling out
Is not my thing
Walk away
I won’t be broken again
I won’t
I won’t fall apart.”

Overall, this album is another hit for Madonna. It was extremely incredible. I did not want to skip any of the songs. I think her only album after this that is as great is Confessions on a Dance Floor. I am not a fan of her later albums with hip hop and gold teeth. She looks ridiculous. But she is Madonna and she does what she wants. I have hope that one day in the near future she will return to dance music style of the 80s once more. 10/10.
