Arcade Fire‘s Funeral was released in 2004 to critical acclaim. They reached the top of the year-end charts and were nominated for a Grammy Award. The band had created modern day classic.
I really do not remember any of these songs. I wonder why. I do not considered it a singles album, at least for me. I think it is better as a whole piece of art. But if you really want a few singles to listen to, then I recommend my favourite song “Une année sans lumière”. Also, all four of the “Neighborhood” songs, especially “Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles)”. I think I like their softer songs on this album.
Overall, this is an amazing album for a debut. It has everything to set a nice mood for an evening with a friend who you have not seen in seven years. It will bring back all the great memories. If you have not given these indie rockers from Canada a chance, then do so now. 10/10.
