Kings of Leon second album Aha Shake Heartbreak made it to the list, but I believe it was removed in the later editions. Honestly, I have never heard this album. I became a fan in 2008. I am curious to hear why it was included, then excluded. I think the editors of this book are fickle. They probably liked the more popular 2008 album, which made a name for the band.
As soon as I put on the album I started enjoying it, but it was “Taper Jean Girl” that first caught my real attention. I like the music. I also like “Milk”, “Rememo”, and “Day Old Blues”. I especially like the latter because Caleb Followill‘s vocals sound so touching and hurt when he sings slow songs. It kills me.
This album has a different sound. It is definitely more garage sound and less polished. I think thus is a great second album from the Kings of Leon. I really enjoyed it all the way through. 9.4/10.
