Antony & The Johnsons is a band I have listened to in the past, but in that past the lead singer was Antony Hegarty, but now pretends to be a female named Anohni. Whatever. The world is going more crazy ever day and we are all suppose to pretend too. I Am a Bird Now is the bands second album.
My favourite songs are “Hope There’s Someone“, “What Can I Do?” featuring Rufus Wainwright, “Fistful of Love”, and I even like the song “You Are My Sister” with Boy George singing co-lead. I have not listened to Boy George in years. I do not like his older voice, which is not very good anymore and too deep.
As for the music, if you like baroque pop, art pop, and chamber pop, then this might be the album for you. Put aside your feelings for the lead singer, his gender problems, and listen to the music and vocals. I think it is a good album. 7/10.
