Ali Farka Touré released his final solo album Savane in 2006. Touré’s died at age 66 from bone cancer, but he was able to finish the album and approve it before he passed.
Funny trivia: Farka means donkey. In Africa it is custom to give a child a strange nickname if you have had other children who have died.
This is definitely not my genre of music. I do not like the sounds of Afrika. I do like some of the blues sound. I would only listen to this if you like Afrikan music. I wonder if this album is still on the list. It states it was included, but that often means it was also excluded in a later edition. Listen to it at your own peril. 3/10.
