Klaxons debut album Myths of the Near Future was released in 2007. I have heard them before, but unfortunately I did not listen to them enough to give them a fair chance. The band have described the album as “a concept album about their fantasy vision of the future”. They recorded three albums and disbanded in 2014.
Trivia: Keyboard player and vocalist James Righton is married to actress Keira Knightley.
My favourite songs are “Atlantis to Interzone”, “Two Receivers”, “As Above, So Below”, “Isle of Her”, and “It’s Not Over Yet”. I actually think almost all the songs are worth listening to, except “Four Horsemen of 2012”. It is too chaotic for me.
If you like new rave, indie rock, post-punk revival, and alternative dance, then you will find something on this album to enjoy. Unfortunately the album was removed from later revisions of 1001 Albums….. 8.5/10.
P.S. I am not sure what happened, but I stopped posting last month. I was extremely busy. I still am busy, but I want to write other things so I will try to hurry with the amendments to the book of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. I applied to University of New Orleans for a Master’s Degree in Writing. I chose Creative Nonfiction, since I was told it would be an easier way in because everyone picks Fiction.
