I have listened to Deerhunter in the past, but I do not remember them at the moment. I am sure that I listened to 2010’s Halcyon Digest. This was the last album their bassist Josh Fauver appeared on. They seem to have a problem with bassist dying; their first bassist died too. The band describes their music as ambient punk.
My favourite songs were “Sailing”, “Memory Boy“, “Desire Lines”, and “Fountain Stairs”.
The worst song is “Basement Scene”. It sounds like an old song and has the worst repetitive lyrics on the album.
Overall, this is a great album if you like dream pop and psychedelic pop. I found myself drifting away so often. It was hard to stay in the moment. It seemed that one minute the album started playing and a second later I was in by five songs. 7.2/10.
