#1072 Solange Knowles – A Seat at the Table

Solange Knowles released her third studio album A Seat at the Table in 2016. The album was a commercial and critical success. Knowles wrote all the lyrics for her songs and produced all the songs along with many other producers. Yes, she is the younger sister of Beyoncé Knowles, but who cares.

My favourite songs so far are “Junie”, “Weary”, and “Don’t Wish Me Well”.

Overall, I like Knowles. She has a smooth sound that is reminiscent of 60s girl bands, a bit of funk and a lot of soul. Knowles is a superior songwriter and singer over her more famous singer. She deserves to be a the head of the table. I think I would score the album higher if I had more time to check out the lyrics. 8.5/10.
