Naïve 14

Day 40: 14 – “Did you ever like someone when you were 14? What was he/she like? Do you still talk to him now?”

Many of the writing prompts in this book do not fit my life as a child. I did not grow up with a lot of knowledge of liking someone romantically at 14. I was trying to survive. My mother did not share with me anything about life that was useful. Also, she did not know much either. I was extremely naïve.

I could not tell the difference between romantic love and friendship love. I did not have either at that age. I was “in love” with anyone who was friendly to me. I craved it.

I do not talk to anyone from my childhood. I moved around so much that I never unpacked because it was pointless.

Sometimes, I wish I had a true love. But now I know I will never have it.
