Day 58: Listen to Lana del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness”. Then, pretend that you’re a music video director. Write about your music video plans for the said song.”
I have never listened to Lana del Rey‘s music before. I thought she was an hispanic singer for some reason. I listened to the song, then watched the video for it. I think the video could have been bettter.
I would do the opening shot of people enjoying the summer, perhaps at a beach. It would be a bright and happy opening.
The camera would move on down the beach to del Rey walking alone. Perhaps the colours would be more blue tinted. She looks heartbroken.
Flashback to a previous summer of three friends. del Rey, a female friend, and a male friend. They are enjoying the beach in the summer. It becomes obvious that we are watching a love triangle. The girl is gazing at del Rey, but the guy is into del Rey too. We don’t know who she likes.
Things fall apart as confessions are made. The girl runs away to a bridge. She jumps. The boy runs to a bridge and jumps too.
del Rey is back to the beach again alone. She lost the love of her life. But which one was it?
Either way, I hate summer too. The song is quite good.
