Day 67: “Write about a song that you wish you yourself have written.”
Stevie Nicks has some of the best lyrics ever. I wish I had written “Landslide” one of her best written songs. She is a poet and a priestess of nothing.
Nicks wrote the song when she was song, but the song sounds like it could have been written by someone who has lived a long life and other times it grabs the young heart that feels like an old spirit. I often wondered could I handle the seasons of my life too.
I took my love, I took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
‘Til the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changin’ ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too
Well, I’ve been afraid of changin’
‘Cause I’ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I’m getting older too
Oh! I’m getting older too
Oh-oh, take my love, take it down
Oh-oh, climb a mountain and you turn around
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down
And if you see my reflection in the snow-covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down
Oh-ohh, the landslide bring it down
