#314 Sparks – Kimono My House

Sparks is a band I remember vaguely from the 80s. Really vaguely. I could not name one of their songs. Kimono My House is a funny title for an album, but since they are an art rock band it makes sense. I am excited to see what they created back in 1974.

Their music is quite funny lyrically with songs like “Falling in Love with Myself Again”.

It is a strange album filled with puns, sexual innuendos and a great falsetto by Russell Mael. I cannot explain this album except to say it is bizarre and you have to listen to it yourself. All the songs are basically listenable to really good. I wish I had discovered it sooner in life. It would have been a favourite. 9/10.
